Our Youth Learning and Leadership Program provides intensive after-school programs for academic support, tutoring, recreational and cultural activities for children.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AGES 6-11
Youths receive homework help from trained tutors and are put into small groups to provide a conducive learning environment for math, reading and writing. Youth Program staff and volunteers strive to make Centro Romero safe learning environment. Program workshops and activities include:
Literature Circles: Teens participate in a weekly book discussion.
Writing Workshops: Teens create short stories every day to improve their creative writing skills.
Arts and Crafts: Children can express their artistic side through painting, knitting or ceramics.
Enrichment Activities: Students engage in a variety of activities that include sports, music and science.
TEEN PROGRAM (AGES 12-16)
Geared toward teens who want to shape their future by taking an active role in the community. College-level trained tutors assist in the overall development of the teen and provide one-on-one attention.
