Agency Updates: April 2024

This past month we were pleased to welcome Joshua Hoyt, a Chicago community organizer, to our offices. Mr. Hoyt presented to our staff on the “Here to Work, Work Permits for Mixed Status Families and Long-Term Residents” campaign, highlighting the importance of our community becoming civically active, understanding the root causes of migration, as well as ensuring that the right conditions exist for immigrants to succeed in the US. Mr. Hoyt is the Founder Executive Director of American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) and his leadership has been a beacon for migrant communities in Chicago.

Additionally, last month, representatives from Hayt Elementary School had the honor of visiting Centro Romero. This meeting strengthened community ties, promoting collaboration and the exchange of ideas for the benefit of our students and their families in our Youth and Adult Education programs.

Finally, the Centro Romero Women’s Soccer Team played their last game of the season at the end of the month, taking home the coveted championship trophy. Thank you to everyone who supported us, come out and watch us play next season!
