Job Description Position Title: Teen Leadership Project Coordinator
Status: Full-time Salary Exempt
Reports to: Youth Program Manager
Position Overview:
The Teen Leadership Project Coordinator’s overall responsibility is to support the development and implementation of scheduling, delivery, and evaluation of educational, recreational, and social and leadership development services to participants in the high school youth program. The position will provide direct academic and enrichment services to participants. Plan and implement the Teen Program calendar and activities, monitor teen students’ grades and progress reports, and communicate with parents when necessary. This position will assist with volunteer and youth worker recruitment and providing necessary orientation and training. This position assists in the overall implementation, planning, and delivery of the program’s goals and objectives.
Specific duties include:
Service Delivery
- Organize mentorship training, conflict resolution, restorative justice, and leadership development services to target youth
- Coordinate HS community navigators
- Assist in the management of the program
- Assist program participants in accessing necessary supplies from the office
- Support parent meetings and support parent
- Support youth workers with developing age-appropriate lesson plans based on the youth’s Help to integrate learning on specific problem areas for each student.
Agency and Department Participation
- Connects the goals and activities of the program to organizational goals and activities
- Coordinates with other management staff to ensure organizational synergy and program implementation
- Participate in staff meetings, the annual staff retreat, professional development training, and all agency activities
Fundraising and Advocacy
- Assist in programs and organization fundraising activities, projects, or new
- Represent the organization in advocacy efforts undertaken by Centro Romero
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor’s degree and /or experience in working with youth. Bilingual/bicultural (English & Spanish) required. Microsoft Office Suite Proficient: Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Google Drive: doc, sheets, slides. Skills in planning, directing, and conducting programs that met participants’ development and emotional needs. Skill in using positive discipline and guidance techniques. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals. Ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with a team.
Demonstrate sensitivity to youth’s socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds and individual needs and capabilities. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed atmosphere. Ability to work in a team setting with other individuals and groups in a friendly, patient, and professional manner. Must be available during program hours.
Work Environment: The nature of our community-based work often involves evening and weekend obligations. schedule can vary depending on the need of the program, and some travel to off-site locations in the Chicago metro area. This job is an In-person position.
