Centro Romero’s Women Department is proud to have worked with Unity Chicago for the annual Back-To-School fundraiser. In providing school supplies, a child will have the necessary tools for academic success. Our collaborative efforts have given families much-needed support for the new school year. This initiative helps relieve the financial burden on parents, ensuring that students start the year prepared and confident. Through our partnership, we are fostering a sense of community and care for the well-being of local families. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and school supplies are a crucial first step. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the lives of both students and their families.

Centro Romero recognizes the importance of health, especially for community members with limited options. In hosting the Annual Health Fair, we offered free health screenings for a variety of health conditions such as diabetes. Attendees also received valuable information on preventative care and access to local healthcare resources. The event served as a platform to connect individuals with services they might not have otherwise known about. By partnering with local health organizations, we were able to provide personalized care and guidance. Together we can continue to promote wellness and health in our community.

Centro Romero finds ways to engage with the community to further our efforts in empowering individuals. Thanks to Roman Ruiz, President of our Board of Directors, Centro Romero was invited to the Building Communities of Resistance event hosted by Self-Help Federal Credit Union. Moments such as this reinforce our mission and build a stronger community. Our participation also allows us to connect with other organizations committed to social justice, creating a network of support.
