Benefits of our program
- Our students demonstrate knowledge of the naturalization process, interview and exam.
- They also improve their English Language skills and acquire the language skills needed to pass the naturalization interview.
- At Centro Romero, we develop the needed print literacy skills to write and read basic English.
- Our Adult Education Program will prepare you to demonstrate knowledge of U.S. history, civics and government needed to pass the naturalization exam.
- As a consequence of being part of Centro Romero’s Adult Education Program, our clients demonstrate increased civic engagement in their community and increased knowledge of local social services and educational resources.
- The Family Literacy program is designed to help parents improve both their parenting skills and literacy skills while providing young children early childhood education and child care
- Parents are provided with ESL classes and other informational workshops to improve literacy and to assist them in promoting their children’s educational development. The Family Literacy program consist of five components: Adult Education, Parent Education, Child Education, Parent and children together (PACT), and Library activities. The program also incorporates presentations from motivational speakers, family psychologists, nutritionist and more with the purpose of increasing self-confidence and empowerment in their parenting journey. With these five components incorporated in the program, parents can use these tools to keep enriching their literacy and their children’s education as well.
- Tutors work with students on a one-on-one basis, in small groups, language exchange, and in pull-out tutoring situations. One-on-one tutoring has been ideal for students unable to attend our more intensive classes, students wanting additional practice in a particular area, students needing remedial help, and students that lack familiarity with the English alphabet and basic decoding skills.
